Who We Are
Paws Fur Recovery is a private no-kill dog rescue based in Martin County, Florida (Indiantown), serving all surrounding areas within a 50-mile radius.
We provide dogs-in-need with a safe, welcoming space and a fresh start. We have a comfortable climate-controlled facility in a quiet rural setting where the dogs get the care, love, and attention they need to heal and thrive, 365 days a year! Our mission is simple: rescue dogs from high-kill shelters, help them recover, and work tirelessly to find them their forever homes. Thanks to the support of people like you, we’re changing lives—one dog and one family at a time.
- We receive no government funding—our work is 100% supported by compassionate people like you.
- In 2025, we successfully placed 172 dogs into forever homes—each one a life changed forever.
- Every dog receives comprehensive veterinary care, proper nourishment, tender-loving-care and individualized attention to prepare them for their new chapter.
- We have a 99% adoption success rate. We are selective and careful when it comes to adoptions. We do everything in our power to make a perfect match every time.
Why We Need Your Help
Everything sounds so great… so, why do we need your help?
We operate month-to-month, always doing our best to stay ahead of the next emergency.
Unlike many shelters, we receive no local, state, or federal funding. We don’t have any large benefactors keeping the lights on.
Every dollar that comes in goes right back out to veterinary care, food, supplies, facility costs, and the day-to-day care that happens 365 days a year.
We are always completely transparent. We are not one of those mega nonprofits, where you have no idea where your money is going to go towards. Last year, we raised $195,429.47 and yet we still live on the edge.
If you’ve ever taken your dog to the vet, you already know how expensive it is—now imagine that multiplied across HUNDREDS of dogs each year. To some, $195k may seem like a pretty substantial number. But, for the hundreds of dogs we save annually, that is an EXTREMELY impressive number to run an entire operation the size of ours… 10 employees providing 24/7 care, nearly 200 dogs taken in annually, countless spay-and-neuters, nearly a dozen heartworm-positive dogs fully treated, we make ALL this happen and more on a shoe-string budget. That’s where we shine, we are efficient, cost-concious.. We make the impossible, possible.
Now, where you come in: helping more dogs requires more funding.
We have PROVEN that we can make A LOT happen with VERY little money. Plain and simple, your donation no matter how much, directly determines how many dogs we can say “yes” to. Five dollars, ten-thousand dollars! Each dollar goes towards saving the life of another dog in need…
